The Pond House dining room — a stone hearth, pine floors and tables set for the evening
Southern hospitality since 1991

Made with passion. Served with pride.

A cherished gathering place for generations, tucked away down a quiet South Georgia dirt road.

Our story

Two families, one dining room

Established in 1991 by the Jones family, our steakhouse has been a cherished gathering place for generations. In 2019, Macy and Jerrid Colman proudly continued that legacy, preserving the warm hospitality and welcoming atmosphere that has made this restaurant a local favorite for decades.

Tucked away down a quiet South Georgia dirt road, our family-owned restaurant offers more than just a meal — it offers a place to slow down, connect and create memories. Loyal customers return year after year, bringing children, grandchildren and friends to gather around our tables and enjoy great food and even better company.

From hand-cut steaks and fresh seafood to our famous pork chops, every dish is served with the same commitment to quality and Southern hospitality that has defined us since the beginning. Whether you're a longtime guest or visiting for the first time, you'll always be welcomed like family.

The stone fireplace and mantel at the heart of the dining room

The place

A cabin, a fireplace and a whole lot of table.

The dining room is exposed beams and pine, with a stone fireplace that gets lit when the weather turns. Ceiling fans, cloth on the tables, artwork on the walls from around here. Nothing is trying to be anything it isn't.

It seats a crowd, which is why it fills up with birthdays, anniversaries, ball-team dinners and church groups. Bring eight people and we'll make it work. Bring twenty and give us a call first so we can set the room up right.

The kitchen

Cut here. Cooked when you order it.

Steaks are USDA Choice Black Angus, hand cut in house rather than ordered pre-portioned — which is why a ribeye here runs 16 to 20 ounces instead of whatever came in the box, aged 120 days and more before it hits the charbroiler.

Seafood is battered and dropped when you order it, not held warm for the rush. Cobbler is made here and served warm. If something takes a few extra minutes, that's usually the reason.
